TECHNICAL FEATURES
The COMET machine has been designed and built to execute:
 - STRAIGHT EDGES AND BEVELS POLISHING
- SHAPED EDGES POLISHING (FULL BULL NOSE, HALF BULL NOSE, AND ABOUT 120 DIFFERENT SHAPES)
- DRIP CUT
- LOWER AND UPPER RIM GAUGING
The interchangeability of the fixtures makes "COMET" totally modular and therefore transformable according to the different needs of the operator.
The machine allows the carrying out of the above mentioned shapes on marble, granite and similar materials plates; from 20 to 60 mm. thick shaped edges.

PECULIARITY
The "COMET" has some features which differentiate it from other similar machines on the market. The main features are the following:
 
1) AUTOMATICITY: the machine allows the edge and bevels polishing on different thickness slabs at the same time and without any worker's participation.
 
2) CONVEYOR BELT: this monosystem has been designed and patented by O.M.G.M. and guarantees the perfect anchorage of the piece with no need of vertical rolls and support bar, which often cause mechanical damages and edge breakages. The support bar absence allows the contemporary polishing of different shape and size slabs, like for example goose foot steps.
 
3) HYDRAULIC EXTENSION TABLE: on request, the machine can be supplied with an hydraulic extension table which allows to extend the worktop up to 3 mt. width and makes easier manufacture large and heavy slabs.
 
4) FUNCTIONING: the COMET stores automatically and simultaneously the slabs lenght and commutes them in logic sequence to each operator unit. The automatic storage avoids the use of electric and pneumatic sensors which often cause breakdowns and stop the machine.
 
5) HEAD ASSEMBLY: all the polishing heads are assembled on a single cast iron casting so to assure a perfect heads alignment. The whole structure is oil bathed and assures long life to the machanical parts.
 
6) MOTOR: a single motor rotates all the polishing heads and assures a considerable electric power saving.
 
7) PRESSURE ROLLERS: the electronic logic equipment runs the pressure rollers descent and the polishing heads coming out. The pressure rollers together with the conveyor belt assure the clamping of the slabs.
